I love Hades and Persephone and heard about this book and how good it is. I totally agree %. Amazing characters. (especially Hades, he's so interesting and mysterious) The book is exciting, surprisingly funny and just beautiful.

BE CAREFUL THO, this book is EXTREMELY intimate, everything they do in bed is described like crazy/5(). Persephone had no children by Hades, but she remained faithful to him—and saw that he remained faithful to her.

When Hades attempted to seduce Minthe, Persephone transformed the nymph into a fragrant mint plant. Similarly, she thwarted her husband's attempt to seduce Leuce by changing that nymph into a white poplar tree.

Hades and Persephone: the beginning of the myth. Hades fell in love with Persephone and decided to kidnap her. The myth says that in one of the rare times he left the Underworld, he traveled above ground to pursue her, while she was gathering flowers in a field. One day Hades, God of the Underworld, saw Persephone and instantly fell in love.

This debut novel is a re-imagining/retelling of the Hades and Persephone story - obviously. I love the "Death and the Maiden" trope, so I feel like I was already set up to love this one.

This book really fleshes out what are usually two-dimensional characters and gives them backstories that are detailed with emotion/5(32). The much-requested video on why I love Hades and Persephone and why I haven't done a recommendations video yet.

I mentioned a hand full of retellings that are on my TBR, but below is a list of Author: Thoughts on Tomes. 15 discussion posts. Yasmim said: I love the P.C. Cast version of persephone and hades romance. The book is the second on the goddess series. Is called. That being said, Hades & Persephone is a tale I know less well, so I came into this book with open expectations.

The cover, synopsis and promise of illustrations were enough to push me to buy this book but I have to say, the execution did not let me down/5. Hades had mounted his underworld chariot and sliced a path to the surface to that point where Persephone's voice was coming from, through the earth's black loams.

His horses gasped as they. Hades agrees to release Persephone, but not before he gives her a piece of pomegranate fruit to eat. Persephone Returns to Demeter. After Hades releases Persephone to Demeter, Demeter is so happy to have her daughter back and she ends the famine. She quickly asks her daughter if she had eaten anything while in the underworld.

Persephone answers. Once there was a young woman named Persephone, the daughter of Zeus. Zeus's brother Hades was looking for a wife and fell in love with Persephone.

Persephone is the Greek goddess of the springtime and vegetation. She is the niece and wife of Hades, therefore being the Queen of the Underworld. Her Roman counterpart is Proserpina. Persephone was born to Zeus, king of the gods, and Demeter, goddess of the harvest. As she wasn't one of her father's favorite children, she had no position at Olympus and used to live far with her mother's Actor: Rosario Dawson.

I love a good romance, smut is always good too. One day when Persephone was alone in her fields, the ground suddenly split open, and out sprung a huge chariot being pulled by black horses.

Hades leaned over the side and scooped Persephone up, and before the girl could even scream, plunged back into the earth. Demeter quickly noticed her daughter was gone and searched frantically for help.

Persephone, the goddess of vegetation, deals with living instead death. Most of the retellings you might see in books, show a Persephone who can grow plants and flowers all around her while Hades is so far from that. One of the highlights of the comic itself is how much time Smythe dedicates to fleshing these two out as individuals, as well the build of romantic tension between the two.
